IN January, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak launched the Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) which is the country’s new vision to become one of the world’s top 20 countries by 2050.
TN50 is also to prepare the rakyat for the future which is constantly changing.
How will it affect the rakyat?
s take a look.
TN50 Is To Prepare The Rakyat For The Future
———————————————————-
By 2050, the world will be changing with more robots replacing humans in factories.
Companies will no longer use human workers to produce their cars or furniture but will use robots.
In Singapore, a fully automated taxi service is in the process of being rolled out with no human drivers.
In Dubai, an unmanned aerial vehicle or drone taxi service, using Chinese technology, is starting to fly the public around.
In ten years, computers will be more powerful and sophisticated and getting smaller and smaller.
Cows and chickens will grow much faster.
But in Malaysia, taxi drivers complain that they cannot compete with Uber and Grabcar.
Malaysians are still far left behind.
So TN50 is all about transforming the rakyat to be ready for the future.
If the rakyat is not ready, we will be left behind because other countries such as Singapore, Japan, China and the United States have their own transformation plans for 2050.
So we better get ready now.
TN2050 Is To Transform Malaysia Into A Better Place For The Rakyat
————————————————————————————–
TN50 is a masterplan to prepare and transform Malaysia into a better place for the rakyat by the year 2050.
This is because in the next 30 years, Malaysia can either be a stronger nation or a weak country.
So it is important that we take steps right now to prepare us for 2050.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said last month in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan that this includes preparing the rakyat in education, economy, social, religion, international relations and so many others.
This is important so that by the year 2050, Malaysia will be a dynamic and a stronger country and its rakyat have a high quality of life and are economically strong.
Many Companies Will Close By 2050 Unless They Change
————————————————————————
Akademi Sains Malaysia chief executive officer Hazami Habib said many companies will close by 2050 if they don’t change and continue to stick to the traditional way of running their businesses.
This is because by 2050, there will be new emerging trade trends and technology breakthroughs such as online business, Internet of Things, nanotechnology and so many others.
However, many Malaysian companies are still using the traditional economy system to run their businesses – highly depending on foreign workers and mass production without putting much investment into smart logistics, automation and using technologies to increase productivity.
“The old system is collapsing and businesses should prepare for changes or face closure,” she said at a briefing last month on National Transformation 2050 (TN50): Malaysia 2050 smart communities programme.
Other countries like Japan, China and Singapore have made preparations for 2050 as they see the importance of technology and other trends which could affect the way we live and are adopting to the changes.
Habib said sharing economics, knowledge, work and the use of Internet, data, nanotechnology and mobile devices would continue to transform businesses into a smart business community.
She has identified agriculture, automotive, creative industry, electrical and electronics, furniture, plastics and composites, and tourism to be the backbone of Malaysia’s smart communities.
So it is important the Malaysian companies change by 2050 because if the companies close down, it will affect the economy and the rakyat will lose their jobs.
TN50 Is Preparing Malaysia To Become A High Income Nation
———————————————————————————
One of the many visions of TN50 is for the country to become a high income nation by 2050.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib said one of TN50’s goal is to increase the economy from RM1.3 trillion to RM2 trillion in eight years.
Increasing the economy is very important because the world is growing very fast and the rakyat must work hard to ensure that Malaysia become a strong economic power and not be left behind compared to other countries.
If Malaysia’s economy is weak, the rakyat will be poor and we will have a low quality of life.
Thus the government will work hard to make its economy stronger and ensure that the economic benefits will go to the rakyat.
TN2050 Is Also About Helping The Younger Generation Become Better People
————————————————————————————————
One of the main thrusts of TN50 is to help the younger generation to become better people.
This include religious development so that the young people of today will become good people and respect the elders with good values.
TN50 also wants the young people to communicate better teaching them soft skills such as speaking well, have more confidence and able to express their opinions well.
One such programme is the Student Volunteers Foundation programme initiated by the Higher Education Ministry which is a reflection of the TN50 in terms of youth development.
Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Mary Yap Kain Ching said on February 11 that the participation of university students in the programme would boost their leadership skills and support the government’s plan to empower the youth in line with the TN50.
Such programmes will develop the youth not only academically, but also in terms of their soft skills because youths are our future leaders,” said Yap.
Thus it is important to prepare the younger generation with soft skills as it will help young Malaysians when they start working.
Once they start working, the young people need to communicate well with other people all around the world.
If they communicate well, companies will give them higher salaries and this will help them and their families to earn better income.
TN50 Is About Bringing The People Together
———————————————————-
Malaysia is a multi racial, multi religious and multicultural country comprising the Malays, Chinese, Indians and others.
So it is important for all these races to be united.
Because if all the rakyat are not united by 2050, Malaysia will not be a strong country.
Deputy chief executive of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies Malaysia Datuk Steven Wong said in his commentary in the New Straits Times on February 21 that in 2050, Malaysia will not be the same country.
In the coming three decades, the rakyat could be united or could be spilt up.
Thus it is important the government plan right now on how to ensure that the rakyat are united and stay united by 2050.
TN50 From An Islamic Point Of View
———————————————–
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said in Nilai, Negri Sembilan last month that from an Islamic point, it is envisioned that by 2050, the world will have a global population of nine billion people, of which, three billion are Muslims.
The resurgence of Islam will not be in the Middle East, but in Asia, of which Malaysia will be at the centre of that growth.
Ahmad Zahid said the government will continue to give its full commitment to the development of religious schools in the country to ensure that Malaysia emerge as one of the world’s top Islamic powers.
Zahid said the government would continue supporting 42,700 religious schools in the country, funded by the government and the Department of Islamic Advancement Malaysia.
Zahid said as an example the country was already one of the world’s major forces in Islamic banking, and it would continue to persevere and become one of the world’s top 20 nations, in terms of per capita income by 2050.
The Rakyat Can Give Their Input At The TN50 Roadshow
———————————————————————
The dialogue process on TN50 is still ongoing all over the country and there will be many roadshows on TN50 all over the country to reach out to all Malaysians.
Everybody has the opportunity to shape and draw a new vision for Malaysia by giving their opinions at the roadshows held by various government ministries and agencies.
Please give your opinions and share your knowledge so that Malaysia will be a dynamic and strong country by 2050.
